What heart rate is considered a heart attack?

My father recently had a scare and we're all a bit worried about heart health. I was monitoring his heart rate with a device and wanted to know at what point a heart rate reading is actually considered indicative of a heart attack.

At the good hospital I go to, they always emphasize that a heart attack is primarily about a blocked artery, not just a heart rate number. However, extremely high or low heart rates can indicate a serious underlying problem. If you're concerned, please ask your cardiologist clearly, they can explain it best for your specific case.

Beta, heart attack is mostly when the blood flow to the heart gets blocked, not just because your heart rate is very high or low. But yes, if your heart is beating very irregularly or very fast for no reason, it is a sign that something is not right. Don't ignore it, show it to a doctor.

It's a common misconception that a specific heart rate causes a heart attack. A heart attack is typically due to blockages in the arteries. While extreme heart rates can be dangerous and signify other issues, they aren't the direct cause. Focus on a balanced diet to keep your heart healthy, and consult a doctor if you have any heart rate concerns.

So it's not like if my heart rate goes above 100, it's a heart attack? I thought a very high heart rate could be it. What kind of numbers should make me worried then, if not a heart attack?

A heart attack isn't directly defined by heart rate, but by artery blockages. However, persistent abnormal heart rates do warrant investigation. Don't hold back on getting tests like ECG or blood work just because of cost – it's crucial for prevention. Plan your finances for regular health check-ups.

My dear child, a heart attack is a very serious condition, often due to blockages in the vessels. It's not usually a specific heart rate number. However, if your heart feels very erratic or too fast, that is a sign to pay attention. Stay calm, stay positive, and consult a medical professional for peace of mind.
