What gets rid of a fever?

My young son has a fever and it's making him really uncomfortable. Besides medicine, what are some good home remedies or things that usually get rid of a fever quickly? I want to help him feel better.

I totally understand how scary it feels when your temperature starts rising, I used to panic immediately. Resting, staying hydrated, and using cool wet cloth strips on your forehead helps a lot. But please monitor it and check with a doctor if it doesn't go down.

At my age, even a mild fever feels like a major event. Honestly, just taking a paracetamol, wrapping myself in a blanket, and sleeping for ten hours is my go-to cure. If that doesn't work, I let the doctor handle it.

In my seventy years, I have seen that the body just needs rest to fight off a fever. Drink warm water, eat light khichdi, and don't rush to take heavy medicines. Let your body heal naturally, but do consult your family physician.

Hey, don't stress too much! Just take a paracetamol, drink lots of water, and get some solid sleep. Your body is just fighting off some bug, you will be absolutely fine in a couple of days.

Haan, fever mein sabse pehle toh hydration bohot zaroori hai na. Khoob paani aur juice piyo, aur temperature zyada ho toh paracetamol le lo. Par do-teen din se zyada chale toh doctor ko zaroor dikhana.

It can be so draining physically and emotionally when you are burning up and can't focus. For me, taking a lukewarm sponge bath and drinking coconut water really helped bring my temperature down gently. Be kind to yourself while you recover.

When I had a persistent fever, my doctor explained that paracetamol is the safest way to manage the temperature, along with plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. He specifically told me to avoid taking antibiotics on my own without a blood test.

Honestly, don't trust random home remedies or Whatsapp forwards for fever. It could be viral, malaria, or typhoid, so only a doctor can give you the right medicine. Get your temperature checked and see a professional.
