Bro, it is caused by a fungus called Coccidioides. I got infected while trekking in an arid area last year. Trust me, the dry soil carries these tiny spores and you just breathe them in without realizing.

Actually, I was reading up on this recently out of curiosity. It's Cocci fungus that lives in hot, dry soils. When the ground gets disturbed by wind or construction, those microscopic spores fly into the air.

It is Coccidioides immitis, and please do not take it lightly. My infection spread to my joints and it took me almost a year of heavy antifungal treatment to recover. If you are having a dry cough and fever after traveling, please see a specialist immediately.

Haan, this valley fever comes from Coccidioides spores found in very dry soil, mostly in parts of the US and South America. We don't see it much in India unless someone has travel history. Just keep an eye on symptoms and talk to a doctor if you suspect anything.

My son picked up this infection when we visited family in Arizona. The doctor explained it's a soil fungus called Coccidioides. It can look like a normal cold at first, so just make sure to get a proper blood test done if your child has a persistent cough.

I read it is Coccidioides and honestly, it scared me so much because you can't even see the spores in the air! Please don't panic though, most people who breathe it in don't even fall sick. Just monitor how you feel and maybe consult a doc to ease your mind.

The culprit is Coccidioides. It's a fungus endemic to desert soils, especially in places like California and Arizona. If you've been to those areas and are feeling sick, just get a fungal titer test done instead of guessing.
