What feature is required for primary stroke center certification?

My uncle recently had a stroke, and we rushed him to a big hospital. They called it a 'primary stroke center'. I'm just curious, what specific features or facilities are required for a hospital to get that kind of certification?

Dealing with stroke is so challenging, for patients and families both. For primary stroke centers, they definitely need a dedicated stroke unit and specialized medical staff available 24/7. It gives so much peace of mind knowing these facilities are there for such a critical time.

I heard about stroke centers when a relative had a scare. They usually need specialized staff who can quickly recognize and treat stroke. Also, they must have imaging machines ready always. It's good to know these facilities are there for quick response, it makes a huge difference.

For a hospital to be a primary stroke center, they need a dedicated stroke team, proper imaging equipment like CT scans available round the clock, and the capability to give immediate treatment like medicines to dissolve clots. It's all about fast action when someone has a stroke.

I'm just learning about this. I think they need to have special doctors and nurses who know a lot about strokes, right? And maybe facilities for imaging tests quickly? Is it also important to have emergency services available all the time?

Having diabetes means I'm always aware of stroke risks. A primary stroke center needs to have a rapid response team and the ability to administer clot-busting drugs like tPA quickly. Also, access to advanced imaging like CT scans is vital. These things save lives.

From my experience with health complications, these certifications are important. For primary stroke centers, they must have a comprehensive stroke team, 24/7 rapid diagnostic capabilities (like CT/MRI), and the ability to administer acute stroke therapies. If you or someone you know has symptoms, don't delay, go to such a center immediately.
