What does upper back pain from cancer feel like?

My aunt has been complaining about persistent upper back pain, and it's making her very uncomfortable. Her doctor is running tests for some reason. What does upper back pain from cancer typically feel like? Is it different from regular muscle pain?

This is a very serious question. Any unusual or persistent pain, especially in the back, needs immediate medical attention. Please see a doctor.

I had a scare with back pain that turned out to be something else, thankfully. But my doctor explained that cancer-related back pain often doesn't ease with rest or activity changes. It can be constant, even at night, and progressive. It felt like a deep, persistent ache for me.

Please, for such a critical issue, do not rely on internet opinions or home remedies. Cancer pain needs proper medical diagnosis and treatment from an oncologist. Go to a good hospital and get it checked thoroughly. No online forum can give you the right answer for this.

For usual back pains, I often suggest oil massages or hot compresses, but for something potentially as serious as cancer, home remedies are simply not enough. My neighbour had cancer that spread to her bones, and her back pain was described as deep, aching, and constant. It required strong medication. Please get a proper medical consultation.

I totally get how terrifying it is to worry about something like cancer. Back pain caused by it can be very specific – often persistent, not relieved by typical remedies, and can be worse at night. It's crucial to go to a doctor immediately for proper diagnosis and peace of mind. Don't suffer in silence with these thoughts.

My grandad had cancer and he complained a lot about deep, dull back pain that wouldn't go away, even with rest. It wasn't like a muscle pull. He said it was very different. Definitely get it checked by a doc, don't just wait around.
