What does squamous cell skin cancer look like?

I've had a rough, scaly patch on my hand that seems to be getting bigger, and it sometimes bleeds. My dermatologist mentioned squamous cell carcinoma. What does squamous cell skin cancer typically look like?

I read on my health app that it often looks like a firm red bump, a scaly patch, or a sore that heals and then opens up again. It is usually on sun-exposed areas like the face or ears. If you notice any spot changing shape or not healing, better get it checked by a dermatologist.

Since I have diabetes, I am always very careful about skin lesions because our healing is slow anyway. This type of skin issue often appears as a scaly, rough red bump that might crust or bleed. If you have high blood sugar, it is even more important to show a doctor quickly so it doesn't get complicated.

It can look like a rough, reddish patch or an open sore that doesn't heal for weeks. If you are going to get it checked, try visiting a government hospital or a trust hospital first because dermatologist consultation and biopsy costs can be quite high in private clinics. Planning ahead helps save a lot of money.

I just got treated for this on my left forearm last month. For me, it started as a rough, crusty patch that felt like a scab but never actually went away. Sometimes it would bleed slightly if I rubbed it. Please don't ignore such rough patches, a simple biopsy will clear your doubts.

Haan na, skin problems are so confusing to identify. It usually looks like a rough, red scaly bump or a wound that doesn't dry up at all. Don't sit at home applying random coconut oil or tubes, go to a good skin specialist and get it checked properly, ho na.

I totally get it, searching about skin cancer can make anyone super anxious. It often appears as a firm red nodule or a flat, crusty, rough-surfaced patch of skin. Please don't panic by reading stuff online; just make an appointment with a doctor to get a clear answer.

My uncle had a similar spot on his forehead that looked like a dry, scaly patch of skin that just wouldn't heal no matter what cream we applied. Honestly, skin things can look like normal dry patches at first. It is always better to get a proper checkup done by a skin doctor instead of stressing.
