What does rem sleep stand for?

My friend and I were discussing dreams and sleep patterns, and the term REM sleep came up. I'm not entirely sure what the 'REM' actually means in that context.

Beta, REM ka pura naam Rapid Eye Movement hota hai. Is samay hamari aankhein band palakon ke peeche tez chalti hain aur hume sundar sapne aate hain. Yeh dimaag ko taro-taza karne ke liye bahut zaroori hai.

In our times, we just called it deep dreaming sleep, but the scientific term is Rapid Eye Movement. It is that crucial time of the night when your mind rests and processes the day's fatigue. Do not lose sleep over tracking it, just sleep peacefully.

I was reading about sleep cycles and learned it stands for Rapid Eye Movement. Does anyone know if we get less REM sleep as we grow older, or does it remain the same throughout our lives?

REM stands for Rapid Eye Movement. It is essential for mental recovery, while deep sleep helps in physical muscle repair. Getting a good outdoor walk during the day can significantly improve the quality of your REM cycles.

It stands for Rapid Eye Movement, buddy! It's just the phase where you do all your heavy-duty dreaming. Don't stress too much about the science of it, just make sure you are getting solid, uninterrupted sleep every night.

It stands for Rapid Eye Movement. I used to sleep barely 5 hours and felt terrible; once I researched about REM sleep and fixed my schedule, my focus improved a lot. Basically, it's the dream state.

REM stands for Rapid Eye Movement. When I was struggling with insomnia, I learned that missing this stage makes you highly irritable the next day. A realistic tip is to cut screen time entirely one hour before bed to boost your REM cycles.
