What does rectal cancer look like?

My father's friend was recently diagnosed with something serious in his lower abdomen area. It got me a bit worried, so I'm trying to understand more about these conditions. What are the common signs one should look out for with something like rectal cancer?

On medical scans, it looks like a growth or a tumor mass inside the rectal wall. Externally, you can't see it, but you might notice your stool looking very narrow or having dark red blood. If you have diabetes, managing your overall gut health and getting regular checks is crucial.

I am a bit hesitant to ask, but does it look like normal hemorrhoids or piles from the outside? My uncle has some painful red bumps and we are really worried. How does a doctor actually differentiate between them?

Beta, you cannot see rectal cancer with the naked eye as it grows inside. Do not make the mistake of assuming any bleeding is just heat or simple piles and trying home herbal pastes. Go to a proper hospital and let them do a scan.

It generally appears as an abnormal polyp or ulcerated mass during a colonoscopy. Since it's internal, you can't see it yourself, but blood in your stool is a major sign. Please book a doctor's appointment immediately to be safe.

At my age, every ache feels like a major crisis! You can't actually see rectal cancer yourself unless you are a doctor looking at a colonoscopy screen. If you see blood in the toilet, stop googling and let the experts handle the looking.

You can't see it on the outside, but inside it looks like a tumorous lump blocking the passage. It often causes your stools to become pencil-thin because of the blockage. If you notice this or sudden fitness drops, get checked out by a pro.

Inside the body, it looks like an inflammatory growth or swelling in the lower colon. Keeping the body clean through deep breathing and healthy habits is good, but for suspected growths, a medical doctor must do an internal examination.
