What does psoriasis of the nails look like?

My fingernails have started looking very discoloured and ridged lately, and I'm trying to find out what it could be. Someone suggested it might be psoriasis of the nails. What exactly does that condition look like on the nails?

I completely panicked when my fingernails started getting tiny dents and turning yellowish, thinking it was some horrible infection. It turned out to be nail psoriasis, which is actually very common and manageable. Don't worry, it is quite normal!

It looks like small pits or holes on the nail surface, and sometimes the nail starts separating from the bed. I tried soaking my hands in warm water with neem oil which helped soften the skin, but you still need a doctor's proper treatment for the nails.

It looks like yellowish-brown spots under the nail, often called salmon patches, along with cracking. Skip the expensive cosmetic manicures to hide it, and go directly to a government hospital skin OPD where you can get the right medicated drops very cheaply.

It usually starts with small pits on the nails and yellowing. Keeping your nails cut short and applying olive oil helps protect them from lifting. But if they become very painful or thick, please consult a dermatologist.

It basically makes your nails look like you tried to carve them with a pin, full of tiny dents and weird yellow colors! Don't worry, you haven't turned into a zombie, it is just nail psoriasis. A doctor can fix you up.

It looks like tiny pin-like dents on the nails, discoloration, and sometimes the nails become thick and crumble easily.

It can look like pitting, discoloration, or thickening of the nail, which is very similar to a fungal infection. Because treatments for these two conditions are totally different, please get it checked by a dermatologist for safety before trying anything.
