What does preeclampsia rib pain feel like?

I'm pregnant with my first child, and lately, I've been feeling some strange pain in my ribs, especially on the right side. My doctor mentioned monitoring for preeclampsia, so I'm trying to understand the symptoms. What does preeclampsia rib pain feel like?

It usually feels like a constant, sharp ache right under your right ribcage, almost like the baby is trying to practice karate in there. But jokes aside, if it’s accompanied by a headache or blurry vision, it’s a sign to head straight to the hospital. Don't wait for the baby's next move!

I totally get it, pregnancy pains can be so confusing and scary to deal with. Preeclampsia rib pain is usually a sharp, burning pain right under the right breast, and it doesn't feel like a normal muscle stretch. Please tell your doctor about this today itself to be safe.

I know how stressful it is to feel any new pain when you are pregnant, your mind instantly goes to the worst scenario. That upper right rib pain can feel like a tight band or heavy pressure, which is a key symptom of preeclampsia. Please call your doctor right away to put your mind at ease.

My wife had this during her third trimester last year. She said it felt like a severe, bruising pressure right under her right ribs, and it didn't go away even when she changed positions. We called our gynac immediately and she was diagnosed with high blood pressure, so please get it checked.

Agree with everyone here. It feels like a deep, persistent ache under the right rib cage, and you should definitely report it to your doctor immediately.

Haan, that pain is very specific, right under the right rib cage like a heavy squeezing. It is not like normal acidity or gas pain, na. Please do not ignore this and contact your doctor immediately to check your BP.

While looking up third-trimester symptoms, I read that this pain is caused by liver swelling due to elevated blood pressure. It is described as a constant, deep ache under the right ribs rather than a sharp kicking pain. It's definitely considered a medical red flag that needs a doctor's attention.

Oh god, I would be so terrified if I felt that pain. It is usually described as a severe, stabbing ache on the upper right side, and it can mean liver swelling from high BP. Please don't search more online to avoid panic, just contact your doctor immediately for a checkup.
