What does ovulation pain feel like?

I've heard some women feel a specific pain during ovulation. I'm trying to track my cycle, and I'm curious. What does ovulation pain typically feel like, and where exactly is it felt?

People online will tell you to drink various herbal teas for ovulation pain, but don't fall for that stuff. It usually feels like a mild, brief cramp or sharp pinch on one side of your lower stomach midway through your cycle. If it is severe or lasts for days, ignore the internet and see a proper doctor.

Don't worry too much, this is actually very common and is called Mittelschmerz. It usually feels like a light, dull ache or a quick pinch on one side of your lower belly, depending on which side is releasing the egg that month. If it goes away in a day, it is totally normal, but stay comfortable.

With my PCOS, my ovulation is highly irregular, but when it does happen, it feels like a dull, heavy ache on one side of the lower pelvis. Sometimes it is hard to tell if it's ovulation or a cyst, so I always suggest keeping a symptom tracker. Don't stress, but do mention it to your gynecologist.

My daughter gets this mild, sharp twinge on one side of her lower abdomen every month right in the middle of her cycle. Just like we monitor our blood pressure, keeping a track of your cycle dates helps you realize it is just normal ovulation. A healthy diet and regular walking help keep these cramps mild.

If the pain only happens for a day in the middle of your cycle, it is likely ovulation and doesn't require expensive treatments. Just use a standard hot water bag or take a basic over-the-counter painkiller if your doctor allows. Don't waste money on fancy scans unless the pain persists for several days.

I literally felt this just last week! It was a sudden, sharp pinch on my left lower abdomen that lasted for about a few hours and then became a mild dull ache. It happens exactly 14 days before my period, so it was definitely ovulation. A warm bath really helped me feel better.
