What does neuropathy pain feel like?

My father has diabetes and has started complaining about a new kind of pain in his feet and hands, which the doctor called neuropathy. He's struggling to explain it to me. What does neuropathy pain generally feel like so I can understand better?

It feels like a burning, tingling sensation in your hands or feet, like walking on pins and needles. Alongside your doctor's treatment, keeping your blood sugar stable through regular exercise and a clean diet is huge for managing nerve health. Stay active and take care.

I panicked so much when my feet started burning and tingling, thinking I was getting paralyzed. It turned out to be mild neuropathy from a vitamin deficiency, which is very common and treatable. Once I started my prescribed supplements, the sensation normalized completely.

In my own experience, it feels like a constant, dull burning in my feet, and sometimes a sharp, sudden pinprick out of nowhere. I cannot give any medical advice on what to take, but for me, wearing soft cotton socks and keeping my feet cool helps manage the discomfort.

It feels like a burning numbness in the soles of your feet, which can make walking difficult. While soaking your feet in warm water with rock salt can soothe the tired muscles, you must consult a doctor. Neuropathy is a nerve matter and needs proper medical care.

For me, it feels like a weird, hot buzzing in my toes, and sometimes they feel totally numb like they aren't even mine. I get so scared reading things online and keep checking them every hour. If you are feeling this, please see a specialist soon so you don't stress like me.

Neuropathic pain is typically characterized by burning, tingling, extreme sensitivity, or numbness in a glove-and-stocking pattern. Since it is often a complication of diabetes or vitamin deficiencies, you must get your blood sugar levels and nerve function evaluated by a doctor immediately.
