What does lung pain feel like?

I've been having this dull ache in my chest for the past few weeks, especially when I breathe deeply. It's not severe, but it's constant. What does typical lung pain feel like, like if it's from an infection or something less serious?

If it is a mild chest tightness due to cold, drinking warm tulsi tea and taking steam helps a lot. But actual lung pain usually feels sharp or burning when you inhale deeply. If you are having severe pain or gasping for breath, please do not use home remedies and go to a hospital immediately.

I had this sharp, stabbing pain in my left chest last month and completely panicked thinking it was my lungs or heart. It turned out to be severe gas and acidity pressing against my diaphragm. If your pain comes and goes with burping, it might just be acidity, so try to calm down.

Lungs themselves actually don't have pain receptors, so what you feel is usually irritation in the surrounding lining or chest muscles. It often feels like a sharp pinch or a deep ache when you cough or breathe. Don't worry, but do get it checked by a doctor if it lasts more than a couple of days.

True lung-related pain, like from pleurisy or infection, typically worsens when you take a deep breath, cough, or sneeze. It is a very localized, sharp sensation. If you also have a fever, yellow phlegm, or shortness of breath, you should get a chest X-ray done to rule out infection.

Sometimes, shallow breathing and stress can make our chest muscles very tight and painful. It feels like a dull, suffocating pressure. Daily gentle pranayama helped me open up my lung capacity, but if you feel a sharp, stabbing pain while breathing, please consult a physician first.

It can feel like a tight, uncomfortable pressure or a sharp catch when you move. Try to rest in a comfortable position and do not exert yourself. I hope you feel better soon, please see a doctor if it doesn't ease up.

It feels like a sharp needle poking inside your chest every time you try to take a long breath. Sometimes the pain also goes to the back between the shoulders. Please do not ignore this, and visit the nearest government hospital doctor to check your chest.

At my age, I have had my share of chest scare stories. Often, what we think is lung pain is just a pulled chest muscle from lifting something heavy or a bad posture. Rest well and monitor it, but if it is accompanied by a severe cough, a doctor's visit is the wisest step.
