What does liver pain feel like?

Been feeling some discomfort on my right side below the ribs, and my friend suggested it could be liver pain. What does liver pain actually feel like? Is it sharp, dull, throbbing? Trying to figure out if I should be worried.

Liver pain is typically a dull, persistent ache or a feeling of heavy pressure in the upper right quadrant of your abdomen, right under the ribs. Sometimes it can even radiate as a dull pain in your right shoulder. Skip the self-treatment, book a gastroenterologist appointment, and get an ultrasound done to be sure.

In most cases, it feels like a heavy, dull discomfort in the upper right side of your stomach, and it might get worse after eating heavy, fatty meals. Many people mistake it for simple acidity, so it's always safer to get a liver function test (LFT). Stay hydrated, eat light, and consult your doctor soon.

I was researching this because my dad had some discomfort, and apparently, the liver itself doesn't have pain receptors, but its outer covering does when it gets stretched or inflamed. That's why it feels like a deep, dull, throbbing ache under the right ribs. It's really fascinating but definitely needs a doctor's checkup.

Honestly, I can barely tell if my liver hurts or if it's just my posture from sitting like a pretzel all night, but liver pain is usually a dull, heavy ache on the upper right side. If it's keeping you awake at night or accompanied by nausea, definitely skip the late-night tea and go see a doctor.

From my own experience dealing with liver swelling, the pain is a steady, dull throbbing in the upper right belly that doesn't ease up with gas medicines. If you are experiencing this, avoid taking random painkillers like paracetamol as they can overload the liver. Go straight to a specialist and get your liver enzymes evaluated.

It can feel like a heavy, uncomfortable pressure right under your right rib cage, and sometimes it makes you feel slightly nauseous or bloated. I had a similar scare last year, and getting a quick ultrasound really helped clear up the confusion. Please don't worry, just get a professional opinion to stay safe.
