What does it feel like when your liver hurts?

I've been feeling a dull ache in my upper right abdomen sometimes, especially after eating fatty food. I'm concerned about my liver. What does it actually feel like when your liver hurts? Is it a sharp pain or something else?

For me, it wasn't exactly a sharp pain but more like a heavy, dull ache on the upper right side of my stomach, just under the ribs. With my PCOS, I always worry about fatty liver issues, so I didn't want to ignore it. It is best to get an ultrasound done if you feel this pressure, just to be sure what is happening inside.

Honestly, it feels like a weird pressure or fullness right below your right rib cage, especially after eating heavy junk. I thought it was just bad gas or acidity at first, but it stayed for days. Doc told me my liver was slightly enlarged and made me cut down on alcohol and oily food completely. Go get it checked, bro.

My doctor explained that the liver itself doesn't actually have pain receptors, so the pain usually happens when the outer capsule of the liver stretches or presses against nearby organs. It mostly feels like a dull, throbbing ache in the upper right quadrant of your abdomen, and sometimes the pain can even radiate to your right shoulder. If it is accompanied by fatigue or dark urine, please consult a specialist immediately.

I remember feeling so terrified when I first felt that heavy, constant ache on my right side. I kept overthinking and googling worst-case scenarios, which made my anxiety spiral out of control. It really helps to talk to a doctor instead of sitting with that fear alone, because most of the time, things can be managed if caught early.

I went through a massive panic phase last year when I had this nagging ache on my right side and convinced myself my liver was failing. It turned out to be just severe muscle pull combined with some mild gas! Don't let your mind jump to conclusions, just get a simple ultrasound done and you will feel so much better once you know.

Any pain or persistent discomfort in the upper right side of the stomach is nothing to play around with. Even if it is just a mild discomfort or feeling of fullness, don't try home remedies or wait for it to go away. Please book an appointment with a gastroenterologist and get an LFT test done to rule out anything serious.

That area under the right rib starts shouting at you especially when you treat your body like an all-you-can-eat buffet! It feels like a lazy, heavy nudge telling you to stop eating parathas. Joking aside, if that side is acting up, give your liver a holiday from oily food and let a doctor take a look.

With my high blood pressure, I have to be very careful about my liver and kidney health. When I had a dull ache in that right-side area, my doctor immediately ordered blood tests to check my cholesterol and liver enzymes. Keeping your BP in check and eating low-salt, non-greasy food makes a huge difference in how your internal organs feel.

Hey, don't stress too much right now, sometimes bad acidity or bloating also makes that upper right side hurt like crazy. But yes, if it feels like a constant heavy pressure, it's better to be safe and get a quick scan. Drink lots of water, avoid spicy food for now, and see a doc if it doesn't settle down.

I totally get it, that dull, heavy feeling under the right ribs can be really unsettling and uncomfortable to live with. It makes you feel bloated and tired all the time, and you just can't focus on anything. Just take it easy, eat simple home-cooked meals for a few days, and definitely get a doctor's opinion to ease your mind.
