What does fibroid pain feel like?

My gynaecologist mentioned I have fibroids after my last check-up, and sometimes I feel a dull ache in my lower abdomen. I'm worried if this is related. Can anyone describe what fibroid pain feels like, please?

Oh, I totally get it, fibroid pain can be so varied and debilitating. For many, it's a heavy, dragging feeling in the pelvis, intense period cramps, or constant backache. Sometimes, it can even be sharp, sudden pain if a fibroid degenerates. It's not just 'normal' period pain, it's much worse.

It's so emotionally draining to deal with fibroid pain. For me, it was a constant, dull ache in my lower abdomen, paired with extremely heavy periods that would make me so weak. Sometimes, I'd get sharp pains that would just stop me in my tracks. It really impacts your daily life and mental peace.

I'm trying to understand this better. So, is it usually like period pain, but much stronger? And can it also cause pain in other areas, like the back or legs?

Okay, so my sister had fibroids, and she used to describe the pain as a really bad, constant period cramp, but way more intense and sometimes even when she wasn't on her period. She also complained of a lot of pressure down there. It really affected her mood and energy. So yeah, it's not normal pain.

Fibroid pain is typically felt as heavy, prolonged menstrual bleeding with severe cramping, a feeling of pressure or fullness in the lower abdomen, and sometimes back or leg pain if the fibroids are large or press on nerves. It can be quite debilitating and disrupt daily activities significantly.

I've explored so many things for different pains. With fibroid pain, it's often a heavy feeling in the lower tummy, strong cramps during periods, and sometimes even pain during sex. I tried warm compresses and gentle yoga, which helped a little, but ultimately medical advice is essential for managing the underlying issue.
