What does exercise induced asthma feel like?

Sometimes when I play football, I get very breathless and start coughing, and my chest feels tight. My friend said it could be exercise-induced asthma. What does exercise-induced asthma feel like exactly, so I can tell if it's that?

Exercise-induced asthma? It basically feels like your lungs decided to go on strike right when you're trying to win that imaginary race! You get shortness of breath, a cough, wheezing, and chest tightness, usually a few minutes after you start exercising. It's not fun, makes you feel like an old engine running on fumes! But relax, it's manageable with a doc's help.

For me, managing diabetes means being very aware of my body's reactions. Exercise-induced asthma often feels like shortness of breath, wheezing, or chest tightness, starting usually after a few minutes of activity. It's important to monitor these symptoms and consult a doctor, just like how we monitor blood sugar levels, to ensure safe exercise.

Hey! Don't stress too much about it, but exercise-induced asthma is definitely something to pay attention to. It feels like you're suddenly out of breath, your chest might feel tight, and you could start wheezing or coughing, usually when you're working out or shortly after. Just remember to talk to a doc if you experience this, they can help you manage it!

As someone managing thyroid issues, I know the importance of body awareness and doctor's advice. Exercise-induced asthma typically presents as shortness of breath, a dry cough, wheezing, or chest tightness during or right after physical activity. If you notice these symptoms, get it checked out. Regular checkups and doctor follow-up are key for management.

It generally feels like shortness of breath, chest tightness, coughing, or wheezing during or after exercise. It can be quite uncomfortable, but is manageable.

I had exercise-induced asthma, and it was quite startling. It felt like my chest was tightening up, and I couldn't get a full breath in, usually about 5-10 minutes into my cardio. I'd also start coughing a lot and sometimes had a distinct wheezing sound. It was frustrating because I loved working out. A doctor prescribed an inhaler before exercise, and it made a huge difference.
