What does asthma look like?

My child has been having some breathing issues, and the doctor is considering if it's asthma. I'm trying to understand more about it. What are the common physical signs or symptoms of asthma that one might observe?

Asthma doesn't really 'look' like anything from outside, but you can see the signs in the person. They might be struggling to breathe, maybe wheezing loudly, or coughing a lot. Their chest might look like it's working harder. In severe cases, lips can look bluish. Stay calm and help them with their inhaler if they have one.

Haan, asthma mein na, saans lene mein takleef hoti hai. Insaan ko khasi aati hai aur seene se seeti jaisi awaaz bhi aa sakti hai. Bachche hon ya bade, sabko pareshani hoti hai. Bas, unko thoda araam do aur doctor se zaroor dikhao.

Oh, I'm not really sure myself, but I've heard people cough a lot or sound breathless. Do they usually get very tired afterwards too? I'm trying to understand more about it.

It doesn't have a 'look' like a bad hair day, lol! But you'll hear it for sure – lots of wheezing and coughing, almost like a tiny whistle trying to escape their lungs. And they might look like they just ran a marathon, even if they just walked to the fridge. Basically, it's the lungs throwing a tantrum!

Well, you won't see it on their face necessarily, but you'll notice them gasping for breath, coughing hard, or making a whistling sound while breathing. Their chest might move up and down very fast. Just remember to stay calm and help them find their inhaler if they need it, or get medical help.

Honestly, I used to ignore my constant coughing and breathlessness, thinking it was just a regular cold. But it was asthma. The main signs are persistent coughing, wheezing, and feeling very short of breath. Don't be like me and ignore it, get it checked by a doctor quickly if you see these symptoms in anyone.
