What does arm pain feel like before heart attack?

My husband sometimes gets a weird pain in his left arm, and it makes me quite anxious. We've heard that arm pain can be a sign before a heart attack. What does that kind of pain usually feel like?

From what I've learned, arm pain before a heart attack isn't always sharp. It can be a discomfort, a heaviness, or numbness, usually in the left arm, sometimes moving to the back or jaw. Eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and low in saturated fats, is vital for heart health. If you feel such symptoms, don't self-diagnose; get medical advice immediately.

My uncle had a subtle arm discomfort for days before his actual heart attack. He described it as a strange dull ache, sometimes tingling, in his left arm, not quite pain, but just 'off.' It's easy to dismiss, but please, if you have any unusual, persistent discomfort in your arm, especially with other symptoms like chest pressure or breathlessness, get it checked by a cardiologist without delay. Better safe than sorry.

Dekho, a lot of people think it's a very sharp pain, but often it's not. It can be a dull ache, a feeling of tightness, or a kind of numbness in the arm, usually the left. It might also spread to the shoulder or jaw. If you feel something like this, especially if it's new and doesn't go away, don't wait. Go to a government hospital or a local clinic quickly; don't take a chance.

At a good hospital, doctors will clearly tell you that pre-heart attack arm pain is often described as a squeezing, pressure, or aching sensation, commonly in the left arm, but can occur in the right or both. It's important because it often comes with other signs like chest discomfort, shortness of breath, or sweating. If you experience these, it's an emergency. Ask your doctor for a full cardiac check-up.

I get so anxious about every little ache! Is the arm pain before a heart attack usually sudden, or does it build up? I sometimes get a weird tingling in my left arm, and then my mind races. Does it feel heavy, or more like a numbness for others?
