What does a migraine aura look like?

Before my severe headaches start, I sometimes see strange zig-zag lines or flashing lights in my vision. My doctor mentioned something called a migraine aura. What does a migraine aura usually look like? Am I seeing something similar?

Aura before migraine, it's like a warning from your body. Sometimes it's like flashing lights or zig-zag patterns in my vision, almost mystical in a strange way. Just remember to stay calm and take care of yourself when you see these signs, listen to your body.

For me, the aura is so disorienting and scary sometimes. It starts as a tiny blind spot, then it gets bigger and shimmers, like looking through cracked glass or seeing zig-zags of light. It really messes with your head, knowing what's coming after. You're not alone in feeling confused by it.

I track my aura patterns on my health app. Usually, it's those shimmering, zig-zag lines that expand across my vision, almost like heat haze. Sometimes I also get a strange tingling. Not everyone gets it, but if you do, it's a good heads-up to prepare.

Migraine aura? Oh, it's like my eyes decide to host a light show before the main event (the headache). Flashing lights, zig-zags, sometimes even parts of my vision just disappear. It's inconvenient, really, trying to work when your vision looks like a disco ball. Happens, yaar.

Any kind of visual disturbance that comes before a headache should not be ignored. It can look like bright spots, shimmering lines, or even temporary loss of vision. But please, don't self-diagnose based on pictures. Get it properly checked by a doctor to rule out anything serious.

I've been reading up on this a lot! From what I understand, it's usually visual – like a kaleidoscope effect or shimmering blind spots. Sometimes it can even be speech changes or tingling. It's fascinating how different everyone's experience is with it.

Typically, a migraine aura involves visual disturbances, like seeing flashing lights, zig-zag lines, or blind spots, which can move across your field of vision. Some people also experience tingling or numbness. If you're experiencing these, it's always best to consult a neurologist for accurate diagnosis and management advice.
