I totally understand how scary it is to even ask this question, my heart used to race every time I felt any small bump on my body. Usually, these lumps feel painless, hard, and fixed in one place, unlike normal soft fluid cysts that move around. It is always better to just get an ultrasound done so you can sleep peacefully at night.
Honestly I keep checking myself every week because of this exact fear and get so anxious. People say it feels very hard, like a hard marble or stone that doesn't budge at all when you press it. Please don't panic though, most lumps turn out to be normal cysts, but definitely get a doctor to check it to ease your mind.
I felt a small painless nodule near my collarbone last week and I've been sweating about it ever since. It feels quite firm but I can't tell if it's moving or fixed. Has anyone else had a similar firm lump that turned out to be completely harmless?
Don't waste time googling symptoms and getting stressed out because it's never accurate. A doctor can tell you in five minutes with a simple scan. Generally, they say malignant lumps are hard and irregular, but only a proper biopsy can confirm anything.

I am also trying to learn about this for my mother. From what I read, they are mostly hard and don't hurt when you touch them. Does anyone know if a soft lump can also be dangerous, or is it only the hard ones we need to worry about?
