What doctor specializes in arthritis?

My knees have been hurting a lot lately, especially in the mornings. My neighbour said it sounds like arthritis. Who is the right specialist to see for this kind of joint pain?

You need to consult a rheumatologist. They are the specialists who handle autoimmune joint issues and arthritis. If there is joint damage that requires surgery, then you look for an orthopedic surgeon, but start with a rheumatologist first.

I think a rheumatologist is the right specialist to diagnose arthritis properly. Sometimes joint pain can be due to different inflammatory reasons, so getting proper blood tests done under their guidance is very helpful.

My father had severe joint pain in his knees and hands last year. We first went to our family doctor, who then referred us to a rheumatologist in our city. The specialist prescribed some specific medicines and exercises which really helped him manage.

A rheumatologist is the specialist for this. Along with their prescribed medicines, reducing highly processed foods and adding anti-inflammatory spices like turmeric and ginger to your daily meals can support your joints.

Please go to a rheumatologist as soon as possible. Dealing with constant morning stiffness and joint pain is so draining, and it really broke my spirit for a long time. Getting the right diagnosis and starting treatment brought my life and my happiness back.
