What do you smell when you have a stroke?

My brother-in-law had a stroke a few years back, and it was a very sudden event. I've heard some people claim to experience unusual sensations before these things. Does anyone actually smell anything specific when they are having a stroke?

When I had my stroke, there was no smell at all. I suddenly couldn't hold my tea glass and my face felt numb on one side, so we rushed to the ER immediately.

Listen, stroke and smells have no real connection. If someone is struggling to speak, or their arm is drifting, stop reading online and take them to a hospital right now.

Smelling things that aren't there is not a standard stroke sign. Please focus on the main signs like face drooping and slurred speech.

Hamare yahan doctor sahab kehte hain ki lakwa (stroke) hone par dimaag kaam karna kam kar deta hai, isme koi mehak nahi aati. Agar haath-pair me kamzori lage toh turant bade hospital jana chahiye.

In my experience dealing with my father's stroke recovery, time is brain. Don't waste time checking for weird symptoms like smells; if you notice any sudden loss of balance or speech issues, get to a hospital with a stroke unit immediately.
