What do you smell before a stroke?

My neighbor just had a stroke, very sudden it was. His son was saying that sometimes there are signs you miss. I was thinking, can you smell anything particular, or is there any specific odor you might notice before a stroke happens?

Don't believe random internet posts saying a burnt toast smell means a stroke is coming. Real stroke signs are face drooping, arm weakness, and slurred speech—if you see these, go to the emergency room immediately.

I know how terrifying it is to search for these symptoms online when you are feeling scared. Please breathe, but if you actually feel sudden numbness, confusion, or difficulty speaking, call for medical help right now.

When my relative had a stroke, there was no warning smell at all, just sudden weakness on one side of the body. We delayed going to the hospital by two hours and regretted it, so please don't wait if you notice any numbness.

With diabetes, stroke risk is something we have to monitor closely through regular checkups. Strange smells are not a standard sign, so please consult your doctor to understand your actual cardiovascular risk factors.

Hey, don't panic. Strange smells are usually just a sinus issue or migraine aura, not a stroke. But just to be absolutely safe, check if there is any numbness or trouble talking, and consult a doctor if you feel uneasy.
