What do thyroid eyes look like?

My neighbor has a severe thyroid condition, and I've noticed her eyes look a bit different lately, almost bulging. I'm trying to educate myself more about thyroid issues. What exactly do 'thyroid eyes' look like?

Eyes look slightly bulging and wide open, ho na. It feels like the person is constantly staring at you. Better to get the thyroid levels checked soon.

My mother had this redness and swelling around her upper eyelids. We went to a leading eye hospital, and the specialist explained it is thyroid eye disease. Please consult a proper endocrinologist and ophthalmologist instead of guessing.

Actually, the eyes look very wide open, almost like you are shocked, yaar. My colleague had this, and her eyelids were quite puffy in the mornings. It got much better after she started her thyroid pills.

My teenage daughter's eyes looked constantly red, watery, and slightly bulging, which we initially mistook for an allergy. Please take them to a doctor to get a proper blood test done; managing the thyroid levels is key.

Listen, don't panic if your eyes look a bit puffy or dry lately. Thyroid issues can cause the eyes to look prominent or slightly pushed forward. It is easily manageable with the right medication, so just get an appointment and we will figure it out.

If you notice bulging or watery eyes, get a thyroid profile test done first; it costs around 300 to 500 rupees in local labs. Plan your budget for a specialist consultation fee too, as early diagnosis saves a lot of money later.

I agree with the others. Usually, the eyes appear quite prominent, swollen, or dry due to thyroid imbalance.
