What do mental health techs do?
I'm thinking about a career in mental health and came across the term 'mental health tech'. I'm wondering what their day-to-day responsibilities and tasks involve.

From what I have been researching, they basically assist psychiatrists and nurses in psychiatric wards or clinics. They monitor patients, help them with daily activities, and make sure the environment is safe. It seems like a really tough but meaningful job to keep patients comfortable.
They look after the daily care and safety of patients in mental health clinics and help them stay calm. While talking to family and drinking calming herbal teas helps with mild stress, for severe mental health crises, these technicians and their doctors are the ones who can provide proper medical support.
They support the medical team by monitoring patient behavior, administering basic care, and keeping records. When my relative was admitted to a reputed hospital, these techs were the ones handling daily patient interactions. Always ask your head doctor clearly about who is managing your patient's day-to-day care.
They work as assistants in psychiatric units, doing the ground-level work of watching patients and helping them with routine tasks. If you are looking for support for a family member, hiring a clinic with trained techs is a very practical way to ensure they get round-the-clock supervision without breaking the bank on private nurses.

They are basically the hands-on assistants in mental health clinics who hang out with patients, help them with meals, and check their vitals. It is a super demanding job, kind of like being a helper and a guard at the same time. Really respect people who do this work.
