What do cavities taste like?

For a few days now, I've had a weird taste in my mouth, almost metallic or sour, and I can't figure out why. My sister said it could be a cavity. Do cavities actually have a taste, and what does it feel like?

It has a very peculiar metallic and acidic taste, ho na. Especially when you eat something sweet and it touches that tooth, a weird sour taste spreads. It is actually the bacteria producing acid in the tooth, so get it checked soon.

It usually tastes very bitter and sour, especially when you wake up in the morning. I tried rinsing with warm salt water and even clove oil, which gave temporary relief from the bad taste, but the real solution was getting the cavity filled. Don't rely only on home remedies for this.

Hello! Many people describe it as a persistent salty or sour taste that keeps coming from one corner of the mouth. This happens because food debris gets trapped in the cavity and decomposes. Regular brushing won't reach inside the hole, so a professional cleaning is necessary.

For me, it tasted like something rotting, and I ignored it until the infection spread to my jawbone. I had to undergo a complex surgery and take heavy antibiotics. If you are getting a constant bad, pus-like taste in your mouth, please see a dentist immediately before it gets worse.

I kept getting this weird chemical-like bitter taste and was constantly searching online, thinking it was some major stomach infection or something. It turned out to be just a hidden cavity between my molars. If you are stressing about it, just visit a dentist to clear your doubts and stay calm.

At my age, my mouth tastes like a damp monsoon wall sometimes, but a cavity taste is uniquely bad—very sour and metallic. It is like chewing on a rusty coin. Do yourself a favor and get it plugged by a dentist before you forget what actual food tastes like.

True, it has a very unpleasant, stale taste that ruins your meals. Flushing the area gently with a water flosser can help clear out the food causing the bad taste until you see a doctor.

Woke up at 4 AM with a taste in my mouth like I licked the bottom of an old shoe. Turns out a cavity can release this constant bitter fluid when food gets packed inside it. Seriously, don't lose sleep over it, just get a dentist to clean it out.

It has a acidic, low-pH kind of taste due to bacterial activity breaking down carbs in your mouth. I track my nutrition and water intake closely, and I noticed this taste didn't go away even with high hydration levels. A quick dental visit confirmed it was a micro-cavity.

It actually tastes super gross, yaar. Like some old yeast or fermented food is permanently stuck in your tooth. I kept chewing mint gum all day to hide it, but the sourness just wouldn't go till I got the cavity filled.

In my sixty years, I have had my share of dental issues. That sour, unpleasant taste is a classic sign of tooth decay. Back in the day, we would delay treatment, but now dentistry is so simple and painless, so go get it treated early.

It is very common to feel a weird, slightly sweetish-decaying taste when a cavity is deep. Don't worry too much, it is just bacteria doing their thing and it can be easily fixed. Just book a simple dental appointment this weekend to get it sorted safely.
