What do cavities smell like?

I've noticed a strange, slightly foul smell coming from my mouth lately, even after brushing. My friend joked it might be a hidden cavity. Can anyone tell me if cavities actually smell, and what kind of smell it might be?

Our bodies have a beautiful way of telling us when something is out of balance. A cavity often creates a slightly sweet but stale, unpleasant odor in the mouth due to trapped energy and food. Keep your thoughts positive, clean your tongue daily, and visit a doctor to restore your health.

I deal with chronic inflammation due to PCOS, so I am always extra careful about oral hygiene. To me, a cavity has a very specific sour, rotting smell that doesn't go away even after brushing and using mouthwash. It's best not to guess and just let a dentist evaluate it properly.

Is it normal to smell something like sulfur or stale food whenever you floss near a specific back tooth? I have been getting this weird, bad breath lately even after cleaning my teeth twice a day. Did anyone else experience this before discovering they had a deep cavity?

Honestly, it smells like food that has been sitting in a garbage bin for too long. Since bacteria are basically feasting on the sweet leftovers on your teeth, it produces a very distinct fermenting smell. It totally ruins the taste of your morning filter coffee, trust me.

Haan na, bad breath from cavities is a real thing and it smells quite foul, like decaying food stuck in a corner. Apne aap clean nahi hota woh ghar pe, no matter how much you brush. Better to go to the dental clinic and get the cavity cleaned and filled properly.
