What do cavities look like in toddlers?

My two-year-old has started getting some strange brown spots on his front teeth. I'm worried it could be cavities, but I thought toddlers don't get them so easily. What do cavities look like in toddlers' teeth?

In toddlers, they often start as dull white bands near the gum line before turning into yellowish-brown spots. Limiting sweet juices and brushing their teeth twice a day is key to keeping their dental health on track.

They look like tiny white lines near the gums or dark brown speckles on the molars. Since baby tooth enamel is quite thin, decay can spread fast. Take your little one to a pediatric dentist for a simple fluoride varnish or filling.

They typically start as chalky white spots where the enamel is weakening, and then turn brown or black. It can be hard to notice them in a moving toddler, so having a dentist do a gentle checkup is the safest way to know for sure.

They usually appear as chalky white spots or small brown pits on the front teeth. Don't wait for your child to complain of pain, as toddlers can't express it well. Book a quick Saturday appointment with a pediatric dentist to get it checked.

I noticed a faint yellow line near my 2-year-old's upper gums and now I am so anxious that it is bottle decay. Has anyone else noticed similar marks on their toddler's teeth? Did it require a full dental treatment?

I totally get it, seeing any spot on your baby's teeth can make you worry so much. Usually, they look like dull white patches or light brown spots near the gum line. A pediatric dentist will handle them very gently, so try not to stress too much!

They often show up as brownish stains or tiny pits on the chewing surfaces of the baby teeth. Just like managing thyroid with regular tests, keeping up with biannual dental checks for toddlers helps catch issues before they cause painful feeding problems.
