What do cancer skin tags look like?

I've started noticing a few small skin tags on my neck and under my arms. My neighbor, who recently had cancer treatment, mentioned that some types of cancer can cause skin changes. Could someone describe what cancer-related skin tags might look like?

Normal skin tags are soft and flesh-colored. If it is hard, bleeding, or changing colors rapidly, please get it checked by a dermatologist.

Hey, don't stress too much! Skin tags are almost always harmless little growths from skin rubbing together. But if one looks weird, is growing fast, or bleeding, just get a quick doctor visit done to be 100% sure, okay?

Normal tags are tiny and soft, but if a growth is firm, bleeding, or has jagged edges, it could be something serious. Just like keeping an eye on your blood pressure, keeping track of skin changes with regular clinical visits is key to longevity.

I have a tiny, soft brown tag on my neck but it doesn't hurt or bleed. Do cancerous skin tags usually start out looking completely normal, or are they always hard and different from the beginning?

Normal skin tags are just boring, soft little skin balloons. If your tag is starting to behave like a drama queen—bleeding, changing colors, or growing like crazy—then it's time to let a doctor kick it out!

Regular skin tags are harmless, but any growth that has irregular borders or bleeds needs a biopsy. You can consult a dermatologist at a government hospital or local clinic where consultation fees are very minimal, just to be safe without spending too much.

I had a growth that looked like a skin tag but turned out to be basal cell carcinoma because it kept crusting and bleeding. Regular skin tags don't bleed or grow rapidly. If yours is doing that, get a biopsy done immediately, it is simple and highly accurate.

I noticed a slightly hard bump near my underarm and now I am panicking that it is a cancerous growth. Do normal skin tags sometimes feel a bit firm, or is firmness always a bad sign? I'm really worried.

Listen, normal skin tags are completely benign, but if you have a spot that is changing shape, has multiple colors, or feels very hard, we need to take it seriously. Book a dermatologist appointment this week, and let's get it looked at properly.
