What classifies as a fever?

My husband has been feeling unusually warm for the past two days, and his head feels heavy. We took his temperature, and it's a bit high. What temperature reading actually classifies as a fever that we should be concerned about?

Yo, a fever is basically when your body temp goes above 100.4°F (38°C). Like, if I feel super hot and my forehead scanner shows anything over 100, I know it's probably a fever. Gotta stay hydrated then.

A fever? It's when my body finally decides to match the burning rage I feel from lack of sleep. 😂 Kidding, but seriously, it's usually defined as a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher. Feels even worse when you're tired, trust me.

Generally, a fever is considered when your body temperature is 100.4°F (38°C) or higher, measured orally. It's a very common symptom, but it can indicate different things, so if it's high or lasts long, please see a doctor. It's always better to be safe and get a proper diagnosis, just like with managing PCOS.

From a wellness perspective, a fever is when the body's internal temperature rises above its normal range, typically 100.4°F (38°C). It's a sign the body is fighting something. Gentle breathing exercises and light, nourishing food can support the body, but if it's persistent, a doctor's visit is wise.

Ugh, fever! It's when your body decides to turn up the heat, usually above 100.4°F (38°C). All I crave during fever is comfort food, but gotta be careful not to eat anything too heavy. Clear soups and light khichdi are the way to go.

I always get so worried about fevers, especially with all the viruses going around. Is it really a fever only above 100.4°F (38°C)? Sometimes I feel warm even at 99.5°F. Does anyone else get anxious and check their temperature constantly?

Okay, so 100.4°F (38°C) is the cutoff. But what if it's slightly lower but I feel really unwell? Like, still feel hot and shivery at 99.8°F? Is that still considered a 'fever' in some sense, or just 'feeling feverish'?

A fever is medically defined as a body temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher. It's an important sign the body gives. Just like with thyroid, you shouldn't ignore it. If it's persistent or very high, it warrants a doctor's visit and possibly some tests to understand the underlying cause.
