Beta, the biggest cause is not drinking enough water throughout the day, which makes the urine too concentrated. Our elders always said to keep a copper pot of water overnight and drink it in the morning. Also, avoid eating too many tomatoes or spinach with seeds, and keep your salt intake low to prevent these stones.

My doctor at Max Hospital explained that it depends on the type of stone, whether it is calcium oxalate or uric acid. You should get a proper ultrasound and a 24-hour urine test done. Please consult a good urologist to understand the exact root cause instead of guessing.

Yes, less water intake is the main culprit behind this. Even my brother suffered from kidney stones due to poor hydration.

Actually yaar, staying dehydrated in this humid Mumbai weather is a major trigger. If you are constantly gulping down tea, coffee, or soft drinks instead of plain water, kidney stones are bound to happen. Just keep a bottle with you always and sip water.

Please take this seriously and don't try to treat it at home. My husband ignored his back pain thinking it was normal, but the stone blocked his ureter and caused a severe kidney infection. Go to a hospital immediately if the pain gets unbearable or if you feel feverish.
