What causes you to sweat in your sleep?

I've been waking up drenched in sweat almost every night, even when it's not that hot. It's really affecting my sleep. Can someone tell me what causes you to sweat so much in your sleep?

Night sweats can be due to so many things, honestly. For me, with PCOS, hormonal imbalances can sometimes cause it. But it could also be your room being too warm, a heavy blanket, stress, or even certain medications. It's always best to check with a doctor if it's bothering you, don't just guess.

I totally get how annoying and disruptive night sweats can be. Waking up drenched is just the worst feeling. It's often due to environmental factors like a hot room, but can also be hormonal or related to medication. Hope you find the cause soon so you can get peaceful sleep.

Don't dismiss night sweats, especially if they are frequent and heavy. While often harmless, sometimes they can be a symptom of an underlying condition. I learned this the hard way when I ignored persistent sweating for too long. Please consult a doctor to rule out anything serious.

Sometimes diet can play a role, especially if you eat very spicy food or a heavy meal close to bedtime, it can increase body temperature. Also, certain deficiencies or even blood sugar fluctuations can cause it. But for persistent night sweats, you need a doctor's advice, not just dietary changes.

Ah, the midnight sauna! My body decided this was a fun new hobby a few years ago. It can be simple things like your room being too warm or a heavy duvet. Or, for us 'experienced' folks, hormonal shifts might be saying hello. Either way, sometimes it's best to let a doctor sweat the small stuff.

I just went through this! For me, it was a combination of stress and a slight vitamin D deficiency. Once I started managing stress better and taking supplements (prescribed by doc), it reduced a lot. Also, my doctor said sometimes even certain medicines can cause it, so check that too.
