What causes yeast infection during pregnancy?

Hi everyone, I'm in my second trimester and have been feeling quite uncomfortable lately. My doctor said it might be a yeast infection, and I'm a bit worried. Is it common during pregnancy and what usually causes it?

Oh, pregnancy! The time when your body decides to do all sorts of unexpected things. Yeast infections are just one of those 'surprises.' Hormones are usually the culprit, making things extra hospitable for yeast. Like you needed another thing to worry about!

I totally get how uncomfortable and worrying a yeast infection can be, especially when you're pregnant. It's already a sensitive time, and adding this on top is just not fair. Make sure to talk to your gynecologist, they'll know the safest way to treat it.

Yeast infections are quite common during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. It's not your fault. Just be sure to consult your doctor for safe treatment options.

Hey, don't worry too much, yeast infections are super common in pregnancy. Your hormones basically make your body a perfect breeding ground for them. Just make sure to see your gynaecologist right away so they can give you safe medication. Don't try to self-medicate, okay?

Yeast infections are indeed more common in pregnancy because of fluctuating hormones, which change the vaginal pH. Increased estrogen and progesterone levels create an environment favorable for yeast growth. Always get it diagnosed and treated by your obstetrician to ensure it's safe for both you and the baby.

During pregnancy, hormone changes can really mess with your body's balance, leading to yeast infections. While diet alone can't cure it, reducing refined sugars and increasing probiotics (like curd or supplements safe for pregnancy) might help prevent recurrences. Always consult your doctor for treatment first.
