What causes uric kidney stones?

My uncle recently had kidney stones, and the doctor mentioned they were 'uric' kidney stones. We always thought stones were just one type. What specifically causes uric kidney stones, and can they be prevented with diet?

Actually, uric acid stones happen when your urine is too acidic, often due to high-protein diets yaar. Drinking less water makes it even worse. If you have bad side pain, don't wait, just go to a doctor.

Because of my thyroid issues, I have to be very regular with my body's metabolic checkups and blood tests. High uric acid levels can easily lead to these kidney stones if left unmonitored. Please consult your doctor and get your uric acid levels tested.

I read that not drinking enough water and eating too much non-veg or junk can cause uric acid build-up. My hostel mates always forget to drink water, which is so risky. Keep a water bottle with you and see a doctor if you feel any back pain.

Uric acid stones can cause severe damage to your kidneys if they block the urine flow. For your safety, please do not rely on random diets online. Get a proper kidney function test and ultrasound done under a doctor's guidance.

The most simple and workable thing is to drink plenty of water daily to flush out the excess uric acid. Reducing heavy lentils and red meat also helps a lot. But yes, if you already have pain, go to a clinic and get the proper medicine.
