What causes trapezius muscle pain?

My neck and shoulder feel really stiff and painful, especially after long hours at my computer. Someone mentioned it might be my trapezius muscle. What exactly causes pain in that specific muscle area?

I ignored my chronic shoulder and neck pain thinking it was just work stress, but it turned out to be a cervical disc bulge compressing my nerves. Please do not self-treat with random muscle relaxants or heavy massages. Go see an orthopedist or a physical therapist for a proper assessment.

Don't blindly start doing intense neck stretches you see on social media, as you can easily pull a muscle and double the pain. Trapezius pain is usually from poor screen posture or bad sleeping positions. Get a proper diagnosis from a physiotherapist who can guide you on the right exercises.

Does anyone else get a burning sensation in their upper back and shoulder blades after sitting for just 10 minutes? This trapezius pain is making me so worried that I might have some permanent nerve damage. What did your doctors prescribe to make it go away?

Honestly, sitting hunched over a laptop while ordering food all day completely ruined my shoulders. That trapezius muscle gets so tight from our constant slouching. A warm heating pad and adjusting your chair height works wonders while you enjoy your evening snacks.

I let my trapezius pain linger for months without doing anything, and it eventually led to severe tension headaches that ruined my work productivity. Do not ignore that stiffness in your upper back. Get a doctor's opinion early and correct your desk ergonomics before it worsens.
