What causes top head pain?

For the past week, I've been getting this strange pain right at the top of my head, like a pressure. It's not a full headache, just that one spot. My wife is worried, so I wanted to see what could cause pain only on the top of the head.

Pain at the top of your head is usually a tension headache, often caused by poor posture, staring at screens for too long, or lack of sleep. Make sure you are drinking enough water and taking screen breaks. If it is persistent or severe, go see a doctor instead of guessing.

At fifty, even looking at my monthly bills causes pain right at the top of my head! In reality, it is usually just high stress or a stiff neck from sleeping on a bad pillow. Try changing your pillow and taking a little rest.

I agree that stress and neck strain are the main culprits here. Try gently massaging your neck muscles, as tightness there often radiates directly to the top of the skull.

Unless a coconut fell directly on your skull, pain at the top of the head is usually just your brain crying for water or sleep! It is almost always tension or sinus issues. Drink a giant bottle of water and take a nap before you start imagining worst-case scenarios.

For me, sudden headaches at the top of the head are sometimes a sign of high blood sugar or dehydration. Keep a close watch on your diet and check your glucose levels if you have diabetes. Drink warm water and eat light meals to see if it helps.

While it is often just stress, pain at the crown of the head can sometimes be related to high blood pressure or nerve irritation. It is always safer to get your blood pressure checked by a doctor. Don't take recurring headaches lightly.

A lot of times, just wearing a very tight ponytail or a heavy headband can cause that top-of-the-head ache! Try letting your hair down and massaging your scalp gently. Hope you feel absolutely perfect soon!
