What causes throbbing tooth pain?

For the past two days, I've had this annoying throbbing pain in one of my molars. It's not constant but comes and goes in waves. Any idea what might be causing such a throbbing tooth pain?

Throbbing tooth pain is usually a sign of an infection or inflammation in the tooth pulp. Warm saline gargles can help ease it temporarily, but you really need a dentist to clean out the decay.

I totally get it, dental pain is the absolute worst because it throbs right up to your ears. Try to keep your head elevated while sleeping, it helps reduce the pressure and pain slightly.

I had this killer throbbing last week and thought my tooth was dead. Turns out a wisdom tooth was pushing through. Got it checked, took some painkillers prescribed by the dentist, and now it is fine.

Oh, I had a similar pain and it was due to a cracked filling that let bacteria get inside. Try to eat only soft foods from the other side of your mouth until you can see a dentist.

Usually, throbbing pain indicates an abscess or deep dental decay. Avoid taking over-the-counter antibiotics on your own; just get a dentist to look at it so they can prescribe the correct painkiller or treatment.

I panicked completely when my lower jaw started throbbing, thinking it was some nerve damage. It was actually just some food debris trapped deep in the gum line causing inflammation. A deep cleaning sorted it out.

I had to stop eating my favorite spicy golgappas because of a throbbing tooth ache! It turned out to be an infection under an old crown. Trust me, get it fixed so you can enjoy your food again.

Well, unless you've been trying to open bottle caps with your teeth, it's probably just a cavity telling you it's time to pay the dentist a visit! Don't worry, they will numb it before doing anything.

Getting older means your teeth start acting like they have their own heartbeat! It is usually an abscess, so better to get it drained or treated before you can't sleep at night.
