What causes testicular pain?

I've been feeling a sharp pain in my left testicle on and off for a week now. It's not constant, but it's really bothering me. What can cause testicular pain?

Hey, take a deep breath and try not to panic. Testicular pain can happen due to a minor muscle pull, fluid buildup, or a mild infection. However, because it's a very sensitive area, please go see a doctor soon to make sure everything is absolutely fine.

In my younger days, I saw a friend suffer from this after a sports injury that he tried to hide out of shyness. It turned out to be a simple infection that was easily treated with antibiotics. Please don't let awkwardness stop you from consulting a doctor immediately.

I have been feeling a dull ache in that area since yesterday, and I'm a bit nervous to tell my family. Is it possible for testicular pain to happen just from wearing tight jeans or sitting too long, or should I definitely tell my parents and visit a doctor?

Nothing wakes you up faster at 2 AM than a weird ache down there, and then you spend the rest of the night reading terrifying articles on your phone. Save yourself the panic and the sleepless night—just go visit a urologist in the morning and get it over with!

If you do heavy squats or running, a minor groin strain can sometimes radiate pain to the testicles. However, you must stop all workouts and get a doctor's clearance first. Never ignore pain in this area, and avoid any exercise until you are diagnosed.
