What causes sleep deprivation?

I've been feeling extremely tired and unable to focus lately, even after sleeping for what seems like enough hours. My friends say I might be sleep-deprived. What exactly causes sleep deprivation, beyond just not getting enough sleep?

I was researching this because my own screen time is out of hand. Blue light from phones actually blocks melatonin, which is the main reason so many of us are sleep deprived these days without even realizing it.

Most sleep deprivation comes from overthinking about work or family expenses late at night. A simple, workable solution is to keep your phone in another room and drink a glass of warm milk before sleeping. It works wonders without costing a rupee.

My mother always tells me to apply warm sesame oil on my soles for better sleep, which is very relaxing. However, if your sleep deprivation is due to severe anxiety or physical issues, it is best to consult a medical professional.

In our times, we slept when the sun set, but today's fast life causes too much mental stimulation. Don't worry too much, just slow down your mind, avoid heavy conversations at night, and your sleep pattern will return to normal.

A lack of physical activity during the day is a major cause of sleep issues. If your health permits, try going for a brisk 30-minute walk every evening; it physically tires your body and naturally induces deep sleep.

Bhai, din bhar ki chinta aur der tak jagne se neend ud jaati hai. Thoda shaam ko jaldi khana khaiye aur hath-pair dhokar soyein, achhi neend aayegi. Apna dhyan rakhiyega.

My daughter faced severe sleep deprivation during her board exams because of stress. We had to sit with her, cut down her late-night caffeine, and establish a calm wind-down routine. Caring support and a quiet room make a huge difference.

Before you spend thousands on expensive sleep clinics or sleep therapies, try basic free changes first. Cut out tea/coffee after 4 PM and make your room pitch dark. If nothing works after a month, then budget for a doctor's consultation.

A restless mind full of desires and worries is the root cause of sleeplessness. Stay positive, practice gratitude before closing your eyes, and let go of the day's stress to sleep peacefully.

Between my husband's snoring and my endless list of tomorrow's chores, sleep has left my life entirely! Stress and hormonal changes at this age are the real culprits. We just have to laugh it off and take afternoon power naps.

I totally get it, lying awake for hours watching the clock tick is incredibly frustrating. It is usually caused by chronic stress or silent anxiety. Please don't be hard on yourself, try some deep breathing and see a doctor if it persists.
