What causes si joint pain?

I've been experiencing a deep, persistent pain in my lower back, specifically on one side, which my physiotherapist said might be related to my SI joint. It makes it difficult to sit or stand for long. What generally causes this kind of pain?

SI joint dysfunction often happens due to muscle imbalances or a weak core putting extra pressure on the pelvis. Focus on gentle glute bridges and hamstring stretches, but avoid heavy squats or deadlifts for now. Make sure you consult a doctor or physio to get it diagnosed correctly.

I have been experiencing a dull ache on one side of my lower back just above the hip, and someone said it might be the SI joint. Does this pain usually spread down the leg, or does it stay in one place? I would be really grateful for any guidance.

I completely understand how depressing and exhausting it is when you can't even sit or stand comfortably because of SI joint pain. It really takes a toll on your mental health when simple movements hurt so much. Please be patient with your body and seek professional medical support.

I agree that lower back and hip issues can be really stubborn. Please consult a physical therapist or doctor to get targeted exercises for SI joint alignment.

Applying a warm sesame oil compress or taking a warm bath can help soothe the deep ache in the lower back and hip area. However, the SI joint is a very complex joint, so natural tips might not heal it completely. Please consult an orthopedic specialist.
