What causes sharp pain in the abdomen?

Occasionally, I get this really sharp, sudden pain in my lower abdomen. It's not linked to my period and feels different from cramps. My mother said it might be gas, but it feels more intense sometimes.

Please don't ignore severe abdominal pain thinking it is just a gas issue. I delayed going to the hospital for a sharp pain on my right side, and my appendix ruptured, which led to a major emergency surgery. Get checked by a doctor immediately.

I just got discharged last week after treating a sharp pain in my stomach. It turned out to be a small kidney stone that was causing extreme spasms. Drinking lots of fluids and taking the doctor's prescribed muscle relaxants finally cleared it.

When I had sharp abdominal pain, I went to a reputed hospital and the gastroenterologist got a quick ultrasound done. It is best to ask your doctor clearly about the exact location of the pain, whether it is gallbladder, appendix, or gas, so you get the correct treatment.

Sharp pain in the abdomen can indicate serious underlying issues like gallstones, appendicitis, or pelvic infections. For your own safety, please do not take any strong painkiller tablets without a proper medical diagnosis. Consult a doctor today.

I am feeling a sharp pinch on the left side of my stomach since yesterday and I am a bit scared. Does this kind of pain usually happen because of food or could it be something worse? Please let me know what I should do.
