What causes rhomboid pain?

Since a few weeks, I've been feeling this constant dull ache between my shoulder blades, especially after working on my laptop for long hours. My physio mentioned 'rhomboid pain' but didn't explain much. Just want to know what exactly causes it.

Honestly, at my age, even breathing wrong seems to cause this upper back pain. Actually, sitting on the dining table with a laptop for hours is the main culprit for me. My wife says it's my bad posture, but I blame the heavy office files.

Did anyone else feel a sharp pinch between the shoulder blades while lifting grocery bags? I have been getting this since last week and I am so scared it might be something major. Please tell me if this goes away on its own.

Our bodies hold so much of our daily mental stress in our upper back and shoulders. Try to do some light breathing exercises and keep a calm mind. God has given our bodies a beautiful capacity to heal, just give it some rest and positive energy.

Oye, relax, don't worry too much. It is usually just muscle strain from slouching or a sudden bad twist while sleeping. Just apply some warm compress for today, keep your back straight, and if it still hurts after three days, go see a general doc.

Same issue here, got it from working on my laptop all day. A simple hot water bag session for 15 minutes really helps loosen that tight muscle.

Along with poor sitting posture, sometimes low hydration or lack of proper magnesium and calcium in our daily diet can make muscles spasm quickly. Try to drink enough water throughout the day and include good dairy or nuts. Let your doctor check if it persists.

For me, it's definitely my phone's fault, that constant 'neck down' scroll on reels! That muscle between the shoulder blades is crying for help. Try acting like a military general for a day with your shoulders pushed back, it actually works!
