What causes repeated kidney stones?

My husband has had kidney stones removed twice now in the last five years, and we're always worried about them coming back. It's a very painful experience for him. What causes repeated kidney stones in people?

I kept getting calcium stones every year because of a habit of not drinking enough water and eating too many high-salt foods. Once I increased my water intake to 3 liters daily, the recurrence stopped. Please check with a urologist for your specific case.

Getting stones again and again is actually so painful yaar. My doctor told me it's often due to high uric acid or just genetic factors. You should definitely get a proper urine test done to find the root cause.

I totally get it, the constant worry of when the next stone will strike is exhausting. It usually happens due to certain chemical imbalances in your urine. Please see a specialist who can help you manage this properly.

I agree, low water intake and metabolic issues are the primary reasons for repeated stones. Consulting a urologist for a proper diet plan is the best way forward.

Sometimes eating too many oxalate-rich foods like spinach and tomatoes can cause repeated stones if you are prone to them. However, it's very important to consult a doctor to get the stones analyzed before changing your diet.

Repeated stones are very painful and can happen due to a lack of fluids or high calcium in the urine. Please consult a doctor for a detailed checkup. Take care.
