What causes psoriasis of the nails?

My fingernails have started looking discoloured and pitted, and they're becoming quite brittle. My doctor said it could be nail psoriasis. What specifically causes psoriasis of the nails?

Nail psoriasis happens when the body's immune system attacks the nail matrix, causing pits or discoloration. Along with whatever treatment your doctor gives, try keeping your diet clean with lots of zinc and omega-3 rich foods to support nail health. Staying active also helps manage the inflammation levels in the body.

Don't stress too much about the tiny pits or yellowing on your nails, it is quite common for people who have skin psoriasis. Just make sure you keep your nails trimmed short so they don't get damaged or pull away from the bed. Let's get a quick appointment with a dermatologist to get the right drops for it.

It is an autoimmune response where skin cells build up under the nail. I use a health tracker to monitor my stress and sleep patterns, and I noticed my nail health is directly linked to my recovery scores. Keeping your stress levels in check really helps manage these flare-ups.

I have had nail psoriasis for years, and it usually flares up when I am extremely stressed or get a nail injury. My biggest tip is to never use sharp metal tools to clean under your nails, as any injury makes it worse. Get a doctor to prescribe proper topical steroids or calcipotriol drops specifically meant for nails.

Haan, yeh nail psoriasis thoda pareshan karta hai, nails kharab dikhne lagte hain na. But actually, yeh koi fungal infection nahi hai, yeh andar ki immunity se hi hota hai. Skin doctor ko dikha lo, woh nail drops denge toh jaldi relief milega.

It is basically just your immune system being a bit too energetic and affecting your nails instead of just the skin! Don't worry, a dermatologist can easily guide you with some nice topical solutions. Just keep them moisturized and stay positive!
