What causes pain inside the nipple?

Sometimes I feel a sharp, shooting pain inside my nipple. It happens randomly, not just during my period or anything. My friend said it might be hormones, but I'm not sure.

Between my baby waking up three times a night and this sudden sharp nipple pain, I am losing my mind. Usually, it's just hormonal changes or friction from a bad bra, but honestly, sleep deprivation makes everything feel ten times worse. Hope we both get some peace and relief soon.

I actually experienced this when I started long-distance running, and it was pure friction chafing. I had to switch to high-quality sports bras and apply some soothing gel. If your doctor says it is nothing serious, you can keep up with your walks, just make sure your activewear is breathable and soft.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! Nipple pain is super common and is mostly just due to PMS, hormonal shifts, or even a rough fabric rubbing against it. Just wear a soft, seamless cotton bra for a few days and see if it calms down. If it persists, just show a gynaecologist to be sure.

If you plan to see a doctor, check if you need an ultrasound first because sometimes direct hospital consultations can be quite expensive. It is better to get a basic GP consultation first for 300-400 rupees so they can tell you if any high-cost scans are actually required. Mostly it is just hormonal and doesn't need costly tests.

Please don't let anxious thoughts take over your peace of mind. Our bodies go through many natural cycles, and minor blockages or hormonal shifts can cause temporary soreness. Stay positive, drink lots of water, and consult a lady doctor gently to put your mind at ease.
