What causes pain in left shoulder blade?

For the last two weeks, I've had this sharp, localized pain in my left shoulder blade. It gets worse when I move my arm certain ways. Someone told me it could be muscle strain, but I haven't done any heavy lifting. What could cause this pain?

Please take a deep breath and keep your mind positive, as stress often stores itself in our shoulder blades. Gentle movements and warm compresses can bring peace to the muscles. God bless, and do consult a doctor if the pain is stubborn.

Left shoulder blade pain is often a trigger point or a muscle knot from poor lifting form or bad desk setup. Gentle shoulder rolls and light walks can help with blood flow. Just check with your doctor before starting any upper body exercises.

Sometimes radiating pain can happen due to internal inflammatory issues, though muscle strain is more common. Since we have to be careful with our body signals, I would suggest not ignoring it. Please talk to a doctor to find the exact cause.

Yaar, this happened to me and it was actually because of driving in bad traffic for hours. The constant clutch movement and bad seat posture ruined my left shoulder blade. Try some volumetric stretching or see a physio if it doesn't go.

Agree with everyone, mostly it is just muscular strain from bad posture. Resting and applying a warm heating pad usually works, but check with a doctor if it doesn't get better.

When I had persistent pain in my left shoulder blade, I went to a major hospital to rule out any cardiac or nerve issues. The doctors explained that radiating pain should always be evaluated properly. Please schedule an appointment and get a clear diagnosis.

Don't listen to people telling you to just massage it or stretch it out online. Pain in the left shoulder blade can sometimes be referred pain from other organs, or a serious nerve pinch. Go to a doctor and get it diagnosed properly.
