What causes pain between shoulder blades?

Lately, I've been experiencing a lot of pain between my shoulder blades, especially after a long day at work on the computer. My physiotherapist suggested stretching, but it's not completely gone. What could be the main cause for this kind of pain?

Pain between the shoulder blades is almost always due to terrible posture while slouching over your laptop. Adjust your screen height and get a physiotherapist to show you upper back exercises.

We often carry the weight of stress and worries right in our upper back and shoulders. Keep your mind calm, practice gentle neck rotations, and consult a doctor to heal your body.

It is usually just a muscle knot from sleeping in a weird position last night! Try a gentle warm compress and see if that releases the tension today. 😊

I had persistent upper back pain and went to Max Hospital to rule out gallbladder or cardiac issues, which can sometimes radiate to the back. It is best to let a specialist do a proper physical exam.

I just recovered from a nasty muscle spasm between my shoulders caused by using a soft mattress. Switching to an orthopedic mattress and doing simple chest-opening stretches made the pain disappear.

I had a rhomboid muscle strain from heavy gym lifts that caused intense pain between my shoulder blades. My tip is to avoid any heavy lifting, use a foam roller gently, and apply an ice pack for a few days.

I totally get it, that constant dull ache right between the shoulders makes it impossible to sit or relax. It is so frustrating, but a warm bath and a gentle massage can really help relieve the tension.

I kept ignoring a deep ache between my shoulders thinking it was just work fatigue, but it turned out to be a gallbladder stone issue. Please do not delay getting a basic ultrasound if the pain keeps returning.

In my fifty years, I have realized that upper back pain is mostly our body telling us to stop rushing and rest. Take some slow deep breaths, sit straight, and have a doctor check it if it persists.

Actually, it is a very common issue yaar, mostly because we keep our neck bent while using phones. Try doing some shoulder shrugs and chin tucks, it really helps release that stiff feeling.

Yes, muscle strain from bad screen posture is usually the main culprit here. A simple ergonomic chair can make a world of difference for your back.

While myofascial pain from poor ergonomics is the most common cause, sometimes cervical spine issues can also project pain there. A doctor's clinical assessment is definitely the most prudent path.
