What causes pain behind the eye?

I've been experiencing a persistent ache right behind my left eye for the past few days. It's not a headache exactly, but specifically behind the eye. I'm concerned about what might be causing pain in that area.

I know how absolutely draining it is when that throbbing pain behind your eye makes it hard to even look at light. It is often a migraine or sinus pressure, and it is completely exhausting, so please rest in a dark room.

Whenever I get pain behind my left eye, I immediately start worrying about high brain pressure or glaucoma. Usually, it is just a bad sinus blockage or dehydration, but getting a doctor to check it always helps calm my overthinking.

This is typically caused by severe dry eyes, high screen time, or a cluster headache. Go get your vision and eye pressure checked by an ophthalmologist instead of trying random eye drops.

The feeling of pressure behind your eye can be really scary and makes you feel very uneasy. It is a very common symptom of tension headaches or sinusitis, so try to take a deep breath and let a physician look at it.
