What causes nummular eczema?

My skin has these coin-shaped patches that are very itchy and dry. My local doc said it looks like nummular eczema. I'm trying to understand why this happens, so I can try to prevent it. What are the common causes for it?

My dermatologist explained that nummular eczema often doesn't have a single clear cause, but it's linked to dry skin, skin injuries (like insect bites), or certain triggers. It's characterized by coin-shaped patches. Factors like cold, dry weather, stress, and even some medications can aggravate it. Proper skin hydration and identifying triggers are key, along with prescribed creams.

Nummular eczema is a chronic skin condition with circular lesions. While the exact cause isn't fully understood, it's often triggered by very dry skin, skin injuries, or allergic reactions. Key is consistent moisturizing and avoiding harsh soaps. If persistent, a quick visit to a dermatologist for a prescription is the most efficient way to manage it. Time is money, get it sorted.

Nummular eczema is basically a rash with coin-shaped itchy patches. It's often due to really dry skin, skin irritation from things like harsh soaps, or even a minor injury. Could also be related to allergies. If you have these patches, stop scratching and see a dermatologist. They'll give you specific creams or meds.

As someone managing PCOS, I know skin conditions can be really frustrating. Nummular eczema isn't directly related to hormones like PCOS is, but it's often linked to extremely dry skin or reactions to irritants. It's best not to guess and use random creams. A dermatologist can accurately diagnose and suggest the right treatment, which is crucial for any skin issue.

I've been noticing these round, itchy patches on my arms, and now I'm worried it's nummular eczema. Is it very common? Does it spread easily? I try to moisturize but it doesn't seem to help much. Has anyone else had it and found effective ways to control the itching?

I had nummular eczema on my legs last winter, it was so annoying and itchy! For me, the dermatologist said it was mostly due to extreme dry skin in the cold weather and using very hot water for baths. I was prescribed a strong moisturizer and a steroid cream for a short time. It finally cleared up. Consistent moisturizing is super important.

Oh, another skin mystery! Probably my body's way of protesting the lack of sleep and too much caffeine. 😂 Nummular eczema, sounds fancy. I heard it's mostly dry skin acting up, or maybe some irritation. With my skin, anything could trigger it. If it's bothering you, definitely show a skin specialist, don't suffer.
